Seniors that have participated in sports and will be graduating in May 2008 are encouraged fill out the Navajo Athletic Booster Club Scholarship Application by clicking the following link: Scholarship Application (Word Format).
The following requirements must be met before a student is eligible for the scholarship:
§ Athletic Participation – Applicant must be a 12th grade student in good standing at Navajo High School who has participated on at least one varsity athletic team during the student’s last two years of attending Navajo.
§ Booster Club Membership – The student’s parent/guardian must be a current/active member of the Navajo Athletic Booster Club. An active member is defined as a paid member by no later than December 31st of the academic application year and has participated in at least three (3) separate club activities within the past year, i.e. meetings, working concession stand, fundraiser activities, etc.
§ Academic Achievement – The student athlete must have a minimum cumulative un-weighted high school grade point average (GPA) of 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. An official school transcript must be submitted with application.
§ Post-Secondary Education – The applicant must be accepted by a post-secondary institution. Post-secondary institutions include, but are not limited to, colleges, universities, and technical and vocational schools.
Although several funds are raised throughout the year, the club's primary fundraiser is selling advertisements for the basketball program that will be handed out at all home games and banners for the baseball/softball field. Cost of the ads are listed below. Deadline for ad submission is October 5, 2007. Specific ad size is not guaranteed due to all personal ads being placed throughout program as space fillers.
